What is a Hat?
An item of clothing designed to be worn on the head
What is a Hat Tournament?
A tournament where players sign up to play as individuals, and allocated a team. Players names are pulled “out of the hat” to allocate teams which are announced on the day of the tournament, or just before.
Can I join by myself?
Of course! You’ll soon get to know your team mates, and the governing rule of Ultimate is “Spirit” – you can be sure that you will be joining an inclusive group of people who are very glad that you’ve come to join us.
How are the teams decided?
Players assess their own skill level by answering a number of questions in the sign up form. This information is used by the Judicial Committee of Integrity to allocate teams to ensure fair teams and a fun tournament. The JCI follow WFDF protocols for team creation.
I have never played Ultimate Frisbee – can I still join?
Yes! Hat Tournaments are designed to be fun and a great learning experience. You will be part of a mixed team and so will be able to learn the ropes.
There are pick-up games in Ubud, Jimbaran, & Jakarta that you can join in preparation for the Bali Valentine’s Hat
